Coffee is one of my favorite beverages...and it smells so good.

This morning, I read this article on the Washington Post's website. A mixture of feelings filled my body, and I could feel my "blood boiling," as the phrase goes.  I was so angry that the Catholic Church would pull aid for thousands of people solely based on their discrimination against ONE group of people.  They want to discriminate against homosexuals, because to them it's wrong to love someone of the same sex. I'm sorry, but I really can't recall anywhere in the Bible or elsewhere in which THEIR SAVIOR, Jesus Christ, said a damn thing about it being wrong to be gay.  I think what he actually DID say, however, was to love EVERYONE as you love yourself and to NOT JUDGE "lest ye be judged." Hmmm.  Sounds pretty hypocritical, then, to follow that same Jesus Christ whilst blatantly judging and discriminating against people who simply want to be with the person they care about.  So, the Church is willing to stop helping many people in D.C. who are poor, sick and suffering

As I kept reading this article, however, I beamed. D.C., in sum, basically told the Church to go fuck themselves, that they would find someone else to fill the gap if they decided not to accept THE CITY'S MONEY anymore.  :)  I am so glad to see that a city with as many poor as the District has is standing up, still, for the rights of people to love whomever they please and recognize the fact that they have as much right to marry as anyone else.  If the Church wants to stop accepting D.C.'s money so that they can continue to be unaccepting and intolerant, D.C. says: "Go right ahead!" I'm proud.
