I am really sick and fucking tired of hearing people throw their worry, concern, anger, etc. at petty bullshit (like who gets the Nobel Peace Prize, most currently), when there are SO MANY other important issues deserving of the aforementioned emotions. Seriously, people, wake UP! There are millions without health care in this world because they can't afford it or it just isn't available. There are wars and violence going on all around us. There are large corporations that are allowed to get away with murder (literally, sometimes) because they buy people out (people like our leaders in Congress, for example). THESE ARE REAL PROBLEMS. Who the fuck cares, comparatively speaking, about who gets the Nobel Peace Prize when these other issues are lurking around every corner?
I understand that perhaps Obama hasn't done what it takes to deserve that prize according to its rules and regulations, but I think we can partially attribute that (if not greatly attribute it) to members of Congress, BOTH parties included, who sit there slapping hands and fighting like babies as opposed to getting shit done. I think our president could accomplish a lot more if Congress could kindly remove their heads from their assholes and DO something.
Some intelligent priority-setting needs to be set here. I would much rather see every person having access to health care and living in a peaceful world. Maybe we should cancel the Nobel Peace Prize all together until someone can actually figure out how to have world peace.
