The rains effect

Jun 12, 2008 19:35

Our sump pump kicked in for the first time since we've moved here, and although water still seeps through some seams in the basement - it has dramatically decreased!!! Our Saturday night entertainment was watching the water pour into the sump and listening to the sweet hum if it operating properly. What a releif with the weather we've been having. But I am lucky to have a man who enjoys the rain as much as I do.

You know, most people will not wash their cars because it is going to rain. My crazy husband washed the cars because it IS raining! I was rolling on the floor! It was pouring so hard, we didnt have to use the hose at all. I stood in the garage with the baby and watched him get soaked to the bone as he washed the cars in the rain. I did have the suggestion to turn the car around though, because of the angle of the rain, one side was not getting rinsed enough. It worked quite well though. Except, that he couldn't get back into the car to move it to the garage when he was done because he was drenched.

On Friday night, we tried the air conditioning because it was too hot to sleep, but it didn't work. AGAIN!!! So we called the installer, and the guy who came to look at it last year and could not find a leak, and he came back out. Charged us again, the jerk. He found the leak this time and told Matt it would be a $200 charge for the freeon and the service charge, but "he felt bad for us" and only charged us $80. Boy I'd like to give him a piece of my mind though!!! Don't people stand behind quality and their work anymore? It was a brand new unit last year, and it's already been serviced twice! Not only that, he used our dish soap to locate the leak! (OK, that is a little extreme for me to critisize, but seriously, come prepared dude)

Baby has been kicking a lot. But I haven't been sick. Not like Savannah at all. This baby seems more tolerant, but kicks harder. I have an appointment on Monday, and everyone has been asking, so I will try to work on the Doctor about getting a second Ultrasound, since they couldnt see much in the first. They may not do a second ultrasound though unless it can be medically justified (or insurance wont cover it, and they dont want to waste the time). Hopefully the fact that they couldnt find the kindeys or see the spine in its length is reason enough. I lost track of exactly how many weeks along I am, but it is over twenty for sure. With a due date the day before Savannah's birthday - I just hope to not be in the hospital while we let Savannah make a royal mess out of a cake! She has 6 teeth now.

Matt took this picture this morning... so adorable, almost looks professional!
