I finally had time to read the news online last night and watch some streams from Cnn etc.
I got a lil welled over it all. I love NOLA, I have been there twice. Two years ago for MadiGrae. I have hit allot of Jazz clubs there and ate lots of Ribs! Some of my best memories are from NOLA. Now- it’s all washed away. Seeing some many ppl crying and police with guns at looters and 100's of years of history wiped out. I just felt so sad. I am thankful for what I have. Even though at times It would seem I am not (we all have bad days) But- non-the-less. It is tragic. NOLA is now off the map. And is officially a ghost town. They reckon it will take 10-15 years to get back together again. Then a new history will begin. So much lost. But- a horrid tragedy could happen to any of us, Death, a storm, car accident. I think we forget this at times. This is a mass scale. Like so many tragedies over the last few years. The thing that gets me is- how come it took 911, Bali bombings, London subway and buss bombings the Tsunami in Indonesia and this hurricane for ppl to see the tragedy around the world. It happens everyday- a city was lost- it can be rebuilt. But life can not be replaced........
------------
Take a look around you? if your life THAT bad? No- it isnt. you may not be happy. but you have more then most people on this planet. if yu can ever help anyone , any time , anywhere- do it. I do. That is why i stand up for the underdoog or step in when a fight is about to happen. or will not hesitate putting a person in there place and bring them back to reality when needed. The world is a bigger place then a single person. but a single effort can change the world.
Just a thought.
