i'm pretty sure i got my first tattoo the spring/summer i turned 18. i hopped on a bus with my freshman year best friend, bree, and got inked in a shop by a man with a tattoo needle in one hand and a drink in the other. he didn't even tell me the price until after he'd finished, and i'm positive he gave me a discount because he thought either my friend or i was cute.
the next three tattoos came by way of the artists at old glory. tramp stamp kanji which is slightly raised, making it a bit like a scar; more kanji on my left hip; stars on the right.
the most recent tat is a butterfly with a treble clef for a body on the top of my left foot. it's the most symbolic and the only one i can actually see on a daily basis.
5 (or 6, if you consider that the first tat is pretty much two stand-alones next to each other) tattoos in 6 years isn't bad, and they're all in places that are easily covered up. i've been wanting another one REALLY bad lately. other people are going on vacations and meeting family members; the biggest thrill in my life seems to be things i do aesthetically.
i want more, but placement and design are ever-changing. color doesn't agree with me very well (it actually rejects the red in rather violently), so, i'm trying to think of something that would look good without the inclusion of color.
any thoughts?
