(no subject)
Hiya! Wow... what a busy week we've had!
Our friend Paul (aka poetpaladin) came to visit us last week. Chris isn't working at the moment, so he had time to take Paul sight seeiing everywhere. Unfortunately, Paul brought COLD weather with him, which made it undesireable for things like going to the beach in the Keys, but we did manage to show him some cool things down there. Chris even herded a baby hammerhead shark for us! (man, it was cute, too). We had a nice Thanksgiving dinner (after my minor breakdown after multiple burns and then walking into the coffee table - long story short: I try too hard to please). Paul was very generous in wanting to treat us, so I actually didn't cook much while he was here (although I think I gained about 5 pounds). It was nice to see him, since we hadn't seen him since Chris and I left LA a year and a half ago. I even had Friday off (or rather, was "allowed" to not come in, athough without pay), so I got to play for a few days too.
After dropping off Paul at the airport Saturday morning and recovering for a bit, it was nice to still have a full weekend. And the weather started to get warmer again, so Chris and I headed back to the Keys today. We went to Bahia Honda State Park, and despite the water being FREEZING, we had a great time. We snorkeled a bit off shore and saw a ton of corals and fish. We even saw 8 baby squid just swimming in place in the current, and a baby sting ray!
Of course, I'm not looking forward to a full week of work, but who is?
