When I walked into the mart earlier tonight I was shocked to see the consistent traffic in and out. Normally there's one or two people, but they don't come and go so quickly and then it clicked: they were buying snacks for their World Cup parties tonight.
Judging by how ALL my neighbors are eerily silent right now (which you know is never the case) I believe they're napping until the game at 4am -- so if a goal is made or missed I'm sure their yelling will wake me. And what can I do? The entire neighborhood will be doing this so I just have to deal with it.
I won't wake up at 4, but I'll wear the little Red Devil wrist band to support them while I sleep. For USA at 7am (here) I will wear the jersey from years past and watch the game as I get ready for work. Probably will have to rely on text updates for the second half.
Anyway, love the World Cup! People get so happy!
