Weekend

Why does it have to have the word end in it? It should never end. This was a good weekend. ;____;

The Boy is being like REALLY boyfriendly, and I love it. I got to have a "17 Again" Saturday with jennerose. There was napping, and skating, and shopping, and eating (so much eating!) and I capped the Sunday with lovely, lovely liminialliz's face. Perfect.

Now it's Monday. ;____________;

Anyway, all this weekend, I was checking my various feeds and failing to post on any of them and I sort of dropped the ball on this thread I was have with the amazing and patient with me katienyc. (everything in italics are HER perfect suggestions!)

Basically it's a mall AU! And it's perfect. For example Johnny and Evan work for rival high-end fashion stores and glare daggers at each other from across the mall. There may or may not be sabotaging of window displays.

Jeremy Abbott works in the music store that Jeremy Ten spends half of his paycheck in every week while flirting. (Abbott frustratingly seems to fail to notice.) Jeffrey Buttle is running the bookstore, and Adam Rippon works at the pretzel place next door. And he's a frequent customer on his breaks and after his shifts and brings in leftover pretzel bites that Jeff is obsessed with and Jeff has started setting aside books he thinks Adam will like. But more often then not they just get into trouble, like the time they stole Evan's car keys and moved his car to the parking lot on the other side of the mall. Evan freaked out because he thought it was stolen and didn't talk to them for DAYS. It was worth it for the look on his face, though.

Tanith manages the MAC counter and Johnny spends all of his breaks there gossiping with her. Charlie is a barista at the Starbucks Tanith stops at every morning before work. Meryl works at the Disney store. Yu-Na works in the jewelery department at Saks and Mao works over in the shoe department. Meryl, Adam, Mirai and Charlie are all in college together. Adam has classes in the morning so he usually works the afternoon or evening shifts. But he always gets to the mall a little early so he can stop by the bookstore.

Brian is one of the living mannequins at the Abercrombie store, and he doesn't see the point of wearing a shirt off the clock when he doesn't have to wear one while ON the clock. And it makes Evan really, really uncomfortable, especially because he happens to pass A&F multiple times a day (on accident). Brian goes out on dates with Evan (though Evan won't admit it was a date) and Sasha Cohen from the mall's candy store (though she INSISTS she was tricked into it). But all the while he is secretly pining after Meryl, but not REALIZING that he's pining. And Meryl is openly disdainful, "I am putting myself through college! I want to be a doctor! I am not dating a loser who doesn't wear a shirt. No matter how good he looks."

Shizuka runs the upscale salon and Stephane is her star hairdresser (he just wants to make everyone look beautiful!) Johnny comes in to get his roots "touched up" twice monthly and getting a sassy pink/peacock/chartreuse/whatever strip dyed in his hair. And Stephane pouts about the mullet while he gossips with Johnny for days telling him about how Evan is getting gray hair now. And of course, Stephane would always make sure that Johnny gets a special shoulder/neck massage before he leaves, all "It's part of the full package!" when actually Johnny is the only one that gets them.

Also Stephane visits Santa (each year he asks for a pony and true love) AND the Easter Bunny every year. Johnny teases him but secretly finds it wildly endearing. Also he plays matchmaker constantly, because everyone is always confessing things to him while in his stylist chair. But he can't play matchmaker for himself even through everyone in the entire mall knows that he's in love with Johnny and Johnny sort of knows it too but he doesn't know what to do because he's got these big plans of being a designer and going to Paris and Milan and New York, and that's important but Stephane is Stephane. Meaning he's frustrating and irresistible all at the same time.

And as the pièce de résistance! There's an ice rink in the mall and an annual after-Christmas oh-god-we-survived-the-holidays fete.

Basically I want to live in that AU. FOREVER!
