Last night's triumphs include-

Gym:
Kate and I went to the gym yesterday, took our careful time stretching, and starting doing balance exercises. We then did our cardio, and I am happy to report a new personal best of running 23 minutes without stopping (2 miles!) I did 2 and 1/3 mile in 35 minutes. All I need to do is add 3/4s of a mile in the same time, and I've got my goal of a 5k in 35 minutes.

It's kind of lame (but kind of awesome) but somehow figure skating is a really great work inspiration right now. What I mean is, just being like, "I want to be fit!" is kind of an aimless statement and my routine of the gym was getting so freaking stale. Well, I should say that the 5k is an inspiration (and the race is in exactly one week) but for me it was just an inspiration for running. I love, love, love reaching new times, and distance goals but it doesn't make me want to stretch or do strength training.

Figure skating though, it's got set goals: balance, flexibility, and strengthen your core. It's got specific exercises, milestones, etc. For instance, I want to be able to gracefully get into the sit spin position. Easier said then done! Try it, because when I do my leg gives out halfway and I end up with my heel digging into my ass.

Chores:
After the gym I asked Kate to come over and stare at me while I did all the things I need to do. Not having someone to talk to while I do boring things is the worst thing about living alone. It's really freakin' helpful to me to be able to have someone to talk to (or in most cases complain to) while I go about doing all the shiz that needs doing. Things like...

- Checking the mail
- Cleaning the cat box
- Paying my bills
- Getting cat food
- Doing a load of laundry
- Updating my resume and sending it to my sister

Sleeping:
Getting all that done, I felt so much better. I slept better, too. I still coughed and was up for about an hour after lying down, but between the gym wearing me out, and then not lying in bed fretting about whether I have enough money, or whether I would accidentally forget to pay a bill, it was a lot easier to relax. I got 6.5 hours of sleep last night, and tonight the goal is 7.5.

Writing:
I WISH I NEVER HAD TO SLEEP SO THAT I COULD SPEND ALL NIGHT WRITING. D: D: D:

Impulse Buying:
In my desire to feel better prepared I ended up buying some old lady purse supplies. My purse has now reached new heights of preparedness. Marvel at the contents of my bag!

My mid-sized, bright yellow, patent leather purse contains:
- wallet (duh)
- cell phone/iPod (except I forgot the iPod today)
- gum
- mini umbrella
- small make up bag
- notebook and pen
- day planner
- a small bag of dry roasted almonds
- a small zipper bag containing-
* a mini travel sized deoderant
* a mini first aid kit
* kleenex
* tavel sized lotion
* tampons

I could fit a cardigan in there still, but I'm wearing it. Basically, I just want to say that if you had to get stranded on a desert island, you might want to do it with me.

Dating:
Uuuuuuuuuuugh, I don't even want to talk about it.
