Long weekends

Bank holiday Mondays are lovely. Even better when preceded by a day off on the Friday. Really needed the extra long weekend, quite sorry to be going back to work tomorrow but I'm sure it'll be fine. Only four days until the next weekend. Only a few weeks until I have a whole week off!

Went to see War of the Worlds on Tuesday night. I'm talking a live performance of the musical version by Jeff Wayne, the cd, Eve of the War and Forever Autumn etc. It was at Wembley Arena and was ace. Very odd and disco at times but very impressive.

This weekend has been quite busy. On Saturday a friend came over with her baby, a very sweet little boy who wasn't any trouble, just gurgled a lot. Very cute indeed.

Then yesterday we had a really fun time. We were going to sort the garden out but the weather wasn't that great (I mentioned it was a bank holiday weekend didn't I?). Anyway, as it was a bit wet and grey we decided to scan our wedding list in. It was great fun! We thought we'd put loads on there and had been really bad but when we got back and had a look it seems we need to add a few things still. It was good fun though basically going around the shop deciding what we wanted. We were quite organised though, there were quite a lot of other couples there doing the same but some of them were just scanning away. We'd had quite a good think about it beforehand so we weren't too silly. Its tempting though!

We had some more friends over last night and as it's a bank holiday, got the bbq out. Very nice it was too.

Other discoveries I have made this week. We have herbs and spring onions growing in our garden and possibly a cherry tree. We've hacked back a lot of our hedge this afternoon and have opened up the garden quite a lot as a result. We just need to get some more lawn growing (lots of moss). It's looking pretty good though.

We're planning to get the rest of our invitations out this week anyway so that's the only other thing we need to get done today, which is a rather nice thought. Only 4 days until the weekend...
