It's like having my birthday everyday. Getting home to see what's arrived through the letter box. We've had a few replies back already which is rather nice. I think our numbers are into double figures now! Not quite justifying the big venue yet but hopefully we'll get there ( Read more... )

A birthday everyday? I think it only feels that way once you past 30! ;)

Hello giddy stranger!
Ditch work - move to planning the wedding full time!
(I bet you've thought about it! ;)

Wedding planning? You have got to be kidding. I really don't know how anyone can get into all that stuff. I've been going on a website which has a forum about weddings and some of the 'dilemas' on there are just bizarre. People worrying about favours and slight variations in colours of outfits.

Couldn't give a cr@p myself.

Good to see you about again though!! Out of hibernation now?

I'm never out of hibernation - I love my bed! ;)
I do have a computer back, and I've got to get online to re-re-re-re-re-start doing web stuff again, so I should be pulling out my idle fingers.

...there's always a panic over favours - and I always forget what the h*ll they are anyway!

We're avoiding the favour issue by not having them.

They're the little bags of almonds ot chocolates or whatever which are on the tables at the meal for the guest. A big waste of money as far as I'm concerned.

Ah-ha!
Yes, they are a bit of a gimmick I guess.
The only 'good' ones I've seen were where the blokes got a mini bottle of wine with a label designed by the groom, and the girls got a box of chocolates - box and chocs handmade by bride - and everyone got a stick of rock with the couples names down the middle!!!
Sickly, yes.
Over the top yes.
Did practically all of it get left behind/broken/scooped into bin by caterers - yes! ;)

You see that's the point. They're not cheap (at the very least £1 a go, more often than not £3-5 each. We're having 150 guests at the meal. It's a lot of cash to literally throw in the bin! I'm annoyed enough about having to spend over £1000 on flowers!

If you want to make some big money, get involved in something surrounding weddings!!
