"I don't want to vote on Tuesday..."
Why oh why do I always seem to get the nutters who ring the newspaper?!
Got a call just now from a guy who insists that he is one of the "alternative" presidential candidates. He was calling from California (or so he said) and wanted me to give him a list of city papers that serve the Amish communities in Ohio.
Obviously the guy has never heard of the internet, so I pulled up the list online and told him what they were. He then proceeded to tell me that he was going to place political advertising in these papers to garner their vote.
"Uh sir, " I said, "With all due respect - the Amish don't vote."
But bless him, he seems to think that if they hear his platform, they will suddenly go against several hundred years of indoctrination and dash to the polls.
