I voted today. But more than that, I feel accomplished because I actually did research and knew what I was voting for. Normally I just create a nice pattern of NO's and YES's on the ballot. It's funner that way.
Unfortunately, on a whim a few months ago I decided to register under the Peace & Freedom Party, which meant (we later found out) Jer and I couldn't vote in the Democratic primary (bitches!) but even in CA you can only be Dem/Indep/DTS to vote in their primary. *le sigh*
Screw the Dems and their kewl kids sandbox, I say!
So I did my research on the P&F folks, who are all Socialists, so maybe it was fate afterall. Turns out at our polling place Jer and I were the first (and I'm going to wager, last, since we showed up at 7:50pm) people to vote Peace & Freedom.
Girl that gave me my ballot: "What's Peace & Freedom?"
I laughed and started to say, "I don't know," then changed my mind: "They're Socialists. We're going to take over the world."
She looked at me funny as I took my little "I VOTED!" sticker from her.
