I'm getting married one month from today. (!!!) And everything seems to finally be taken care of and I can relax for a few weeks beforehand. Thank God. You know, when we first told my parents we were engaged, they offered us two options: have a church wedding with the dress and the cake and all the people and all the trimmings, or go to Vegas for a week and come back hitched with pictures. I never even considered the Vegas option, because I wanted the dress, but OH MY GOD, if I had known all the work and planning and detail that goes into a wedding, I'd have been married by an Elvis impersonator months ago.

I'll probably feel differently after I get back from the honeymoon, but geez.

In related news, my fiance is from coastal Oregon and wants desperately to go back there after being in the midwest for six years. Growing up, the temperatures were always mild (this week where he lived, the temperature will only crack a 70 degree high twice, while here in Illinois, it's in the mid to upper 90's with several days over 100) and he got to see the ocean every single day. It rarely snowed. So the intense heat+humidity+mosquitos and brutal cold+snow+ice get to him. I told him that we'd move to Oregon in a few years.

I told my sister this and she said, "You have to take me with you." Me: "Buh . . .wha?" I told my parents, and they said, "In a few years there will be nothing tying us here. We'll move there too."

In a way I'm like, yay! The more family, the merrier! But in another way, I don't know how to feel. If my entire family moves to Oregon because I move there with my husband (how weird to write that) and they don't like it there or they miss Missouri, I will feel terrible. And what happens if our marriage fails and I've dragged my entire family out there with me?

Plus! His family doesn't know. A year after he moved out here, his mother and his sister and her child moved out here to be with him. But then she got married to a local guy and his mother's happy. They're not going to take it kindly, I don't think.

I forgot til just now that I have to figure out wedding music. I don't know from squat about wedding music.

Is there anyone out there also sadly addicted to MTV's The Hills? No? Anyone?
