Okay, so this episode. Didn't end like I thought it would, but yay for Bobby not being dead!

I'm assuming Dean's letter to Ben was an explanation about what happened when he shoved him.

Annnnd now the girl and the father are making plans. This will just be harder on the father when the girl dies, because he thought she was going to be okay. Dean would have saved them some pain if he'd just taken her earlier.
Bobby, WHY did you follow the totally-obviously-a-trap blood trail?
And now Dean's taken the ring off. Of course. Because the episodes are never complete until all of the things the Winchesters are told they MUST NOT DO have been done.
I knew beforehand that Death still gave Sam his soul back, so I wasn't worried about that.
I like that Dean went back and finished the job, even if he could have just left it. I felt sorry for the girl, and the dad, though.
And Dean saves Bobby. And punches Sam. Awesome!
Ohai Death! Give Dean the talking to he needs.
More talk about the value of souls. WTF is going on with this?

Is the wall thing going to work? Of course it's not going to work. The wall will collapse and we'll get to see him completely break down.

Final thoughts; good episode. Hell, it could have been utter crap, and I would have liked it because Samless is FINALLY FUCKING GONE, Hallelujah!
I'm going to quote what a friend of mine said last night, because he put into words exactly what I was feeling: "fuck Sam. I'm getting sick of Sam. The plot has hardly gone anywhere this season, and it's because everything has taken a back seat to Sam and his soullessness. They should have given him his soul back a few episodes in, and got on to the actually interesting plotlines. The first half of the season would have been far less weak without all the soulless Sam crap getting in the way of the war, and the monsters, and purgatory."
I'm looking forward to the second half of the season so much more than I've really looked forward to any episode so far in the first half (excluding The Third Man, because OMG CAS' RETURN and Weekend at Bobby's). Now I just have to hope that I can like Sam again, now he has his soul.
