Ireland: Day Three

Irish Bank Robber

June 21

On our first full day in Youghal, we had some pretty intensive orientation in the morning and then did some door-to-door magazine distribution. I was really freaked out because I thought that we would have to knock on doors and talk to people. In reality, we just stuck magazines in postboxes. :-) That afternoon, Alissa and I ran errands with Jessie. It was fun to see Youghal up close. We had to get change at the bank for the camp store. I felt like a bank robber!
Jessie

Here is Jessie dividing up the money for the camp store. The Tromsnesses and Jessie help extensively with a Christian camp for two weeks during the summer.

Isn't he cute? (He shed a bunch though - yuck!)

Matthew

Matthew became slightly obsessed with affixing labels with church information on the back of the magazines that we were going to distribute.
John and Andy again

So while Matt labored, John and Andy built with Legos.

After supper, the team (minus David who was watching the World Cup) decided to go check out the Strand Beach at Youghal

Sign

I'm infatuated with Irish signs. This was contained rather humorous information to boot!
Ashley and Alissa

Just moments after taking this picture, I was asked by some visitors where Ahrene's Seafood Restaurant was. "Uhh...I just got here...*looks at sign*...it must be that way!" :-D

Oooh, so much fun!
Cave

We climbed down the rocks to the shore and found this underwater cave. It reminded me of an underwater cave in a Lord Peter mystery...*shivers*

Keith

Keith picked up this enormous crab and after we all had enough photographic and videographic evidence, he threw it back into the water; wherein in flipped over on its back and pulled its legs it and looked lethargic. Poor thing, it had probably been working all day to reach the shore.
