Back from Toleder-Town Once Again...

Jul 13, 2005 13:15

Now that I finally have a little down-time from work during my magnificent lunch hour, I can give you the update. I met up with Bob in Toledo this weekend for his cousin's wedding, which was cute (although long -- Catholic ceremony -- gotta love those). So for the most part, it was an enjoyable weekend and we got to stay at my friend Joelle's house, so we got to spend time away from the bulk of his family (which although sounds mean, was a godsend for us). We didn't do too much other than go to the wedding, because Joelle wasn't back in town herself til Sunday night. Although...Sunday we went to the annual Polish festival and walked around with some draft beers and ate lots of Polish food like kielbasa and pierogis, which is always fun. The polka music was a bit over the top, but Bob's family is Polish, so they soak that stuff up...haha. Overall though, the weather was great and for once up there, the sun stayed out the whole time. Then Sunday night Joelle got home and we hung out with her at her place and just chilled out in front of the TV with some alcoholic beverages. Bob ended up going to sleep and Joelle and I stayed up til about 2 in the morning just chatting and catching up on life, so that was fun. I felt like I was having a slumber party and forgot how fun things like that are when you're younger and carefree.

So anyway, that is that -- Monday Bob and I napped together a lot and I took the late flight home to my Jasmine (who was very happy to see me and took Bob's place of being my cuddle buddy for the rest of the night). Now it's back to work and I've been catching up with my marketing schedule...

Oh, I hired a couple of interns today and last week (I manage them -- it is quite fun). Well, my boss asked me to tell the interns to limit their IM and personal Internet usage, so because I don't like to be mean, here is the email I sent. It makes me laugh:

Hey Everyone,

I just wanted to let you all know that you are more than welcome to the Internet and personal IMs for personal use during lunch breaks, but please limit your usage during work hours. We all have to be reminded of this once in a while because we’re all victim to it, but I have to give you the heads up. :)

Thanks guys!

Steph

At least I am not an a-hole like some, I guess. I like the interns and think they are nice (although I do have one slack-off). So I feel bad lowering the boom on them (as my boss puts it). But I guess I've gotta do what I've gotta do.

Ok, that is all for now. I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend. Write me soon!
