After a slightly delayed flight, Rey and I got to Smithfield okay. I'm honestly not sure what time we finally made it. I fell asleep on the plane, woke up long enough to get off the plane and into the car at the airport in Raleigh, and then I fell asleep again. The last thing I remember was Rey waking me up when we got to Shane's house. I was so out of it, I asked him if we were home. He just sort of laughed at me and pointed towards the house. I guess I managed to crawl up the front porch steps and use the key Shane gave me ages ago. But after that it all gets foggy. I woke up this morning all snuggled up in the guest bed with Rey next to me, though. So at least I know I didn't pass out in the living room. I'm not sure why I was so beat last night. But I know it was nice to get a full eight hours of sleep.

The last time I was in Smithfield Rey and I got into it. We both said some things we didn't mean and I ended up yelling that I didn't belong here anymore. That these people...my friends...they couldn't be like family to me ever again. Laying here now in this guest bedroom that's become so familiar, I realize just how wrong I was. It's good to have a moment of clarity after so much madness.

I think I'll get up and make some breakfast in a few minutes. See if Shane and Shannon have any food left in their cupboards since they're never here. Besides cat food, anyway. Pepsi's already been fed. I thought I owed her that much since I brought Tasha into her space and she didn't seem all that happy about having a dog in such close proximity. Tasha's more like a chicken, though. One little hiss from Shannon's cat and she was curled up around Rey's head, shaking like a leaf. It would've been cute if Rey hadn't looked so put out about the whole ordeal. *snickers*

Anyway. Yeah. Breakfast. Then shower. Then we'll head on up to the hospital to see the twins. Thank God for a relaxing day.
