so the flight to chicago wasnt too bad. it was about 2 hours and it was a really small plane. only had 2 rows and one row had 2 seats and the other row (the one i sat in) had one. i was still kind of sick for the flight so it really fucked up my ears. i dont think my ear completely popped until this morning. met lyle in baggage claim and we headed to the car. he's way more blonde than the last time i saw him. some guy helped us with our stuff, he was really nice...too nice. he like told us he was going to give us his phone number so we could go hang out with him and his wife and "have some beers or som'n"

that night we went out to dinner with lyle's parents at Gino's East, real chicago deep-dish pizza. Lyle's dad was SO funny. this restaurant is just a branch of the actual one thats downtown and ken was so unsatisfied that we were at this one instead of the real one. he said something along the lines of "im not so sure about this place" and he was mad because they didnt have wine or beer. so he went to the grocery store and bought a bottle of wine, and an opener because what good is a bottle of wine without an opener.

after dinner lyle and i went to the beach and watched the sunset on the rocks. it was awesome, there were these two sailboats that were so far off in the distance and with the dark blue color out over the horizon it honestly looked like they were just going to evaporate into the sky. anyway it was pretty amazing, a good way to start off our time together.

yesterday we headed down to the city and took the "El" to Wrigley Field...i know you're jealous. we didnt have tickets so when we got there we scalped some from this guy who totally ripped us off. lyle was so pissed. we paid $110 for two tickets that were actually worth like $70, but it was soooo worth it! after that we looked for a "retro" cubs shirt that lyle wanted. he found the perfect one but they didnt have his size, so we went to another place, they had the same one but they were almost twice the price so we kept looking and found the perfect one in the next store for a really good price. he was so proud of his cubs shirt.

headed into the field but apparently in the wrong entrance because as we were entering the lady like FREAKED out because we were in the bleachers and this entrance was for non-bleacher people. it was pretty funny...freak.

the game was AWESOME. i got really sunburned but it was worth it. lyle just got a little pink. both of us are sunburned just on this little strip of our arms because of the way we were sitting. the cubs won 5-4 in the bottom of the 10th with a single homerun by SAMMY SOSA. we sat in the bleachers with like 400000 drunk people. it was pretty funny. there were two guys next to lyle who were like so wasted and had forgotten sunscreen so they kept asking to borrow ours. but it didnt really help, they ended up pretty bad. the guys behind us were kind of assholes but they were funny. one guy was talking about something and they're talking so loud you cant help but listen to them, and he said something about how he had kept screwing his sister and it was like silent and then finally one of his friends was like "dude you fucked your sister?" and everyone around us was like laughing. yeah and then one of them decided to be gay and snap my bra just because i was so sunburned that he knew it was going to sting like a bitch. it was just weird. he was just a jerk though like some other girl had walked by and he lifted up her skirt just like weird...whatever. so yeah after sammy hit the homerun to win the game everyone threw all their trash on to the field and it was like covered. it was cool everyone was so pumped talking about going to the series and everything. all in all it was a pretty perfect game.

after the game we had plans to go see the rest of the city but an unfortunate thing happened to lyle that kind of changed the plans. okay so we've collectively decided that this is IMPOSSIBLE to describe in words this whole situation because it just doesnt do it justice. but we'll try...okay so after the game we walked back to a farther station to get on the El and got a smoothie on the way...really good smoothies. we got on the El and it doesnt have very smooth take-offs (for those of you that dont know, the El is an above ground train) so the train starts, makes a huge jerk and this really large drunk guy flies into Lyle, and his cup was shoved up again his chest and bursted open and got EVERYWHERE. it was shooting out the top and the bottom and it was bright red and it looked like he had just murdered someone. the guys were really nice about it though, one of them gave him like $8 for dry cleaning, and another guy told him that this event would probably get me naked that night. he even offered to spill it on me if it would help a little more. yeah it was funny, so we got off the next stop, i took pictures of his "bloodiness" people were staring at us so much, between his smoothie mess and my extreme sunburn. long drive home...

when we got here the kids were here. lyle's niece Holly and his nephew KC. we went and saw Dodgeball, it was really funny in a stupid way. like another zoolander we decided. when we got home from the movie we were going to watch sportscenter at 12 and like we had been watching it for like half an hour waiting for the cubs highlights to come on and so lyle figured it would be a while and he went to get ready for bed and missed only the CUBS update. it was like the worst timing ever. yeah okay...this has been a really long update so lyle and i decided that he's going to continue updating these past couple of days in HIS journal so that i dont have to write anything else here...

see you in a couple days
