Comments: Uh, I really don't know where this came from. :'D;; It's really not good for young eyes/minds, and it's a little... disturbing, I guess, if you're not used to that kind of stuff. Just... read, yeah? You'll see what I'm talking about. XD

Naruto has always been told that his eyes tell everybody how he really feels. If he is happy, they widen and sunlight falls onto them, creating a shimmering, wet effect. When he is ecstatic, the force of his grin pushes his eyes closed, but you can see faint hints of that (pure, amazing, total) blue behind his short, blond lashes. When he is angry, there is a lack of shine, despite the fact that his eyelids are wide open and his eyebrows are furrowed.
So one gloomy, rainy, beautiful day, Naruto leans over the mildewed counter of his bathroom
pulls down the bottom of his eye lid
and runs his fingers over the cornea.
It burns, he will realise.
But it does feel good.
That demon inside him (Kyuubi, Kyuubi, you wretched monster.) doesn't like that pain, and helps him pull it away.
Naruto angers.
Presses more insistently against the bulge of his eye.
Accidentally, his nail rips through and rips a bit of his iris.
Blood falls from the corner of his eye, and Kyuubi, angered once more, heals it for him.
But Kyuubi lacks experience in healing eyes.
Naruto notes that he can no longer look side to side with that eye, and realises it is because Kyuubi stopped the blood flow to the muscles in his eye. (It's all it could have done.)
Naruto stops.
The next day, he only looks forward, and sometimes he forgets, so accidentally, only one eye will turn.
But Naruto, he's a fast one.
Not one notices.
Well.
That's not right.
One notices, but by accident, like all great discoveries.
Sharingan is out, as always, they are being ambushed, as always, and he wonders why Naruto does not see that projectile flying at his head. He deflects it and is surprised further when Naruto does not react. He only fights what is in front and left of him.
And
accidentally
the sharingan notes the tear in the iris
and
accidentally
the sharingan notes the bit of sky broken blue in his finger nail.
So Sasuke wonders.
The next day, Sasuke's right eye is rendered immobile, but -- surprise surprise -- everyone notices.
Sasuke only stares blankly ahead at their questions. (Guess who stands in front of him?) They worry, but it will fade. Some seem (genuinely) concerned, but only because of the fun that is interference.
It's really too bad that
nobody notices the bit of sheer black-red
in Naruto's fingernail.
