Betrayed
I'll admit it, I feel utterly betrayed. Day & Act closed down ATS today (Well, not until Sunday, but they announced it today) without saying anything to anyone. They never said they were having money troubles. Every player I've spoken with said they'd have been willing to give money. They never said they were needing more help. Everyone was volunteering to act as assistants to the staff. They never said anything. And now, after hours of work .. it's all gone.
I actually called Mark to let him know about this. It seemed important, somehow, that he know about it. He was hurt. He spent hours... HOURS ... working on the temple for Perseverance in the game. Perfecting things. And now, so soon after he got it all together, the game is going away. I was building Kae into this creature who was ... something beyond herself. A new incarnation of an old idea that i'd never given justice before. Friendships were formed, grown... and now they're lost.
Syrra said, "I LIKED you guys. And now, we're just random strangers again."
I'll miss my random strangers. I'll miss Kae following Aeolus and Sameron to kill crabs. I'll miss Nyssisus and Syrra listening to Kae's songs. I'll miss Airednas, impetuous and rough as she was. I'll miss Loki. I'll miss them all.
And I'll also miss Kae.
