updates and then some.

The weekend was interesting. Easter dinner as hellish at times, the low-light being my dad's declaration that marriage is a business and not personal. Yes, and we wonder why my relationships are troublesome at times (thankfully, Chris is patient with my crazyness and crippling fears of being cheated on).

Once the awkwardness of marriage subsided, I got into a discussion about the bracket of economy that my sister and I are in versus my dad and my cousin. It is WAY harder for us, I don't cre what anyone says. My dad and cousin graduated college without nearly the costs and debt that Lauren and I got into. Everything was cheaper - even taking inflation into account. Even a 5-year difference is staggering: my sister made roughly my salary now upon graduation and was able to live in PA in a real apartment. With her salary in NJ, I live in someone's basement.

Though, I will say, I got a vote of confidence from my dad. While making a point about one being able to reinvent themselves, my dad said that my decision to get out of NYC and risk switching jobs, in a bad economy no less, is "one of the top 5 best decisions you will ever make." That makes me feel pretty damn good.

And, we got into a conversation about debt. In short, a polite all is going to Bank of America today, because I've been too good of a customer to not demand better interest and maybe even tell them I'm only paying half of what I owe. Apparently, you can do this. I had no clue. And hey, it doesn't hurt to ask. Until you own anything, my dad put it, do not be afraid of debt.

Just some interesting talking points from the weekend. God I need a vacay.
