So, barring any disaster that befalls the magazine in the next 6 hours, I survived my first production cycle. And it KICKED ASS. I worked only a few late nights - maybe 4 in a ten-day period, a lot less than I had expected/had been told. I've gotten a lot of praise from Lauren, who is the fucking best coworker I could ask for, and I have learned a LOT about my writing and my attention to detail thanks to my incredibly rad ME and EE.

In other news, Chris leaves Monday. Whoooa that went fast.

LJ Cuts are good for the writer because he or she feels better about hiding content that a reader may want to skip. This would be great, except it's completely, 100% counterintuitive for the reader, who WILL click on the link to a cut post. You know you did, even if you have NO interest in the sappy things I have to say about Chris. :P

Best last week ever. The days Chris and I have spent together are seemingly so mundane, but they're perfect. I've spent most of my time trucking to Philly to help him pack. Listening to Feist while packing up his kitchen, getting sort of drunk of the beer he doesn't want to waste in the fridge, being surprised with apples and peanut butter (!), Chris dropping adorable hints that we'll maybe be unpacking all his stuff when we have "our own place." This is all weirdly extreme for people who've only been together 4 months, but I'm going with it. I'm certainly no fortune teller, but I've stopped looking out to the future and started cherishing the now. I adore that boy now, and if 'now' happens to turn into 'for as long as we both shall live,' I am quite OK with that. :D

I am really looking forward to my not-so-secret mental health day next week. I should do things like go to the dentist and get my eyes examined. Reality: I will watch Tyra Banks all day.

I also can't wait for things ahead, like 7's birthday at Mideival Times. Ohhhh, this is going to be TOO good. There is NOTHING like celebrating adulthood via oversized drinks that lead to excessive screaming in an arena full of young children.

In healthism news: the running is a struggle, and it's been brought to my attention via the Internets (you know, way more accurate than a licensed physician) that I could very well be developing runner's asthma, since lately I feel as though my lungs aren't getting enough air when I'm pushing myself.

I also need to get an ear infection checked out. I haven't had something like that since I was like 7. Huh. Well, at least I have health insurance! :D

I know I likely missed a few things but back to work for now. xoxoxo
