Hey!
I'm back with the TsuKuro Version for my Inevitable Series.
This is my AU Drabble Series, so I will be writing about how they would
fall in love in another time.
i've already done a sort of, Yamaki version.

TSURARA & KUROSAKI
two lonely souls bound to be one.
(3-part drabble)

a.)

She arrived 20 minutes earlier and taken a seat somewhere relatively in the middle of the classroom. She took the 20 minutes to neatly place out her notebooks and pens as the rest of the class start piling in.

She watched all the new faces around chat adamantly with each other for while and she begins to feel out of place when the only two empty seats in the class are the ones next to her. She glanced at her watch for the fifth time.

“Oh! He’s so cute! Oi…matte, what’s your name?”

Tsurara turns her head to the louder than normal voice of a girl with big eyes and long hair, clad in things that screamed, “exspensive”. As a girl, curious to see any cute guy, she looks for the newly entered guy, who did not respond to the loud girl in any way.

In fact, he surprisingly made his way towards her. She looks away as he takes a seat next to her, rolling his eyes at the other girl who was trying hard for his attention. Her back straightened unconsciously.

He was really cute. Black hair falling messily over his eyes and smoothly tanned skin. He wore dark jeans, a forest green shirt, peaking out from under a comfortable black hoodie zip-up. He only carried a small notebook with a pen held up at his ear.

“Ne, do you think we can switch seats?” Tsurara looks to her left and the loud girl from earlier was now occupying the other empty seat.

“Oh uh…” Tsurara reaches to gather her things but a hand holds hers, stopping her in the process. She looks up to the owner, looking at him face to face for the first time. And he was 100 times more handsome close up and eye to eye.

He shakes his head. “Don’t.” He mouths.

“Onegai, switch seats with me.”

She looks back to the girl, suddenly torn on to who she would listen to. And at this moment she was leaning more for the girl.

Tsurara tries to move her hand but the guy holds it tighter. He leans back in his seat to look at the other girl from behind Tsurara’s back.  Tsurara stares intently at her captured hand that was squeezed tighter whenever she tried to move.

“Look girl-“

“Yukari.”

“Look girl, I want to sit next to-“ He looks to Tsurara and her eyes widen. “Ah…Tsu-…Yoshikawa Tsurara.”

He nods. “Yoshida-chan. So please stop trying. It’s annoying.”

“It’s Yoshikawa.” Tsurara attempts to correct. Yukari narrows her eyes at Tsurara.

“Gomen ne…” Tsurara bows her head. Yukari “hmphs” as she rises up from the seat moving back to her original area while glaring.

Tsurara blinks a couple of times before returning to look at her hand. “Ano…” The handsome boy looks to her with a slight curve of his lips. He releases her hand.

“Yoroshiku.” He lamely greets properly. Tsurara smiles and nods her head.

“Yoroshiku onegaishimasu…”

“Kurosaki.” He completes the line for her.

b.)

It’s coincidental that she has nearly all of her classes with that guy.  She has some of the classes with that Yukari girl, whose glare had died down eventually. If Kurosaki had shared the same class as well, he would sit next to Tsurara.

Their last conversation together had been their first because during class he didn’t say anything or he was asleep. Every class they had together he would acknowledge her until their last class (and the very last class of the day). He sat next to her (because Yukari happened to be there as well) mumbling a pathetic, “majide?”

Tsurara felt a little offended, but let it go. It even surprised her that he had been in nearly all of her classes.  In their last class, while waiting for the teacher, he finally speaks up which catches her off guard.

“Yoshida.”

“…Yoshikawa.” She answers quickly.

“Major?”

“…Nani?”

“What are you majoring in?”

“Oh, Law. I want to be a prosecutor.”

Kurosaki sighs heavily, with a sarcastic, “Majide?”

“What’s wrong with that? What are you studying?” Tsurara crosses her arms and pouts out her lip a little. She was now wishing that he hadn’t spoken to her.

“Law.” He says simply, pulling the pen from his ear just as the teacher steps in. Tsurara then understands his sarcastic remark and begins to feel the same way.

She now understands that she’ll be seeing a lot of him and it didn’t particularly put a smile on her face.

~x~

She sees him everyday, except weekends. Despite the amount of time her eyes see him, they never say more than a couple of words such as “Ohayo” and “Sayonara.”

Every day she is plagued with a growing curiosity, wanting to know more about him as the mystery continues to build each time she sees him. She took notice that at lunch time, he would leave the campus and come back just in time for class. Occasionally, he could be seen with a guy with orange hair but other than that, he was alone majority of the time.

With each passing day, she grew comfortable with their silence and it happens that now in every class, he sits next to her, despite whether Yukari was present or not.

After a couple of weeks, it seemed that he had also grown comfortable with her, occasionally asking her to borrow some paper or if she had an extra pen. She had even started to notice, that when he would leave for lunch, he didn’t spend the whole 2 hours away, but in fact comes back early to dwell in the classroom or library.

She didn’t notice that she started to count the minutes he was away for lunch.

When she did notice, it angered her. Why was she worried about a guy that didn’t even talk anyways?

“Ah, Ja ne.” Tsurara turns to her right and realizes her words have been useless. Kurosaki wasn’t even there. She took a moment to scratch her head because he usually said “Jaa” before he took off for lunch.

She didn’t let it bother her as she gathered her things to head off to her usual spot for lunch. She had found a comfy area in a deserted area that actually had a picnic table for her to eat her lunch properly. She found the lonely table when she was walking around the campus. It happened to be in a hidden spot, perched up against the wall, creating a constant shade. There were no students or anything around here but a big tree and a trashcan. It was a perfect spot for her, to eat and to study while enjoying the weather outside.

As she sipped on her juice box, her mind slipped back to thinking of reasons on why he hadn’t said goodbye to her before he left.

When she realizes how ridiculous it was to think about that, she instantly feels just how lonely she was. She puts her juice box down, suddenly losing her appetite.

“Yoshida~ …”

Tsurara turns her head to find Kurosaki coming towards her with a bag in his hands. Her hand goes over her heart when it starts to beat faster.

“It’s Yoshikawa.” She snaps. He narrows his eyes as he takes a seat in front of her, dropping the bag in front of him on the table.  He doesn’t say much more, but just takes out his food and starts eating.

“What are you doing?” Despite her tone, her heart was overjoyed with his sudden appearance at her table.

He holds up his bun, and raises his eyebrows before taking a bite and talking with his mouth full, “Eating.”

Tsurara rolls her eyes; she should’ve expected a comment like that from him. “Don’t you usually go somewhere else for lunch?”

Kurosaki pauses from his chewing, “Were you stalking me?”

“No! I don’t stalk people.”

Kurosaki smiles partially with his mouth full, “You were stalking me!”

Tsurara, suddenly enraged, points out and away from the table. “Go away! You can’t come sit here and eat your lunch without asking me if you can AND then accuse me of being a stalker.”

It was infuriating that the only time he seemed to talk; he said things that made her angry. “Especially accuse me of stalking you. Ugh.”

He only continues on eating, apparently amused with her reaction.  After a couple moments of silence (because she didn’t know what to say as he finished up his food), he crumples up all his trash, putting it aside to throw away later.

“What time is it?” He asks. Tsurara blinks then looks to her watch.  “12:24.”

“Yesss.” Kurosaki posts up his back against the wall, putting his legs up on the bench part of the table. “Wake me up in an hour.”

“Ehh?! You can’t sleep here.”

He pulls his hood over his head. “And why not?”

“Because…you can’t!”

Tsurara leans forward to nudge him when he doesn’t answer. “I said you can’t!”

Kurosaki pulls his hood back and nods his head, “It’s okay Yoshida. I can fall asleep anywhere.”

“Yoshikawa.” She knew he purposely misinterpreted what she meant by ‘you can’t’ but she couldn’t conjure up a response for that. He pulls back the hood over his head, returning to his comfortable position.

“As if you don’t get enough sleep in class. One hour it is.” She mutters under her breath, relenting to Kurosaki’s wants.

She pulls out her book with a sigh to go over her notes, taking one last glance at the man sitting across from her. She would never tell him that she was actually relieved that she wasn’t alone, even if they didn’t talk.

And then her heart beats fast when she hears him say, “Arigatou.”

c.

Everything was a pattern for them. Tsurara would be in class early while Kurosaki arrive the latest.  Despite the different times in arrival, they were always found sitting next to each other.

During class, Kurosaki would either lazily take notes (Tsurara had actually caught him drawing a black cat once) or fall asleep.  When class ended, Tsurara would give him a couple pokes at this shoulder if he had fallen asleep. If not, Kurosaki would discreetly wait for her by slowing down when he packed up all of his stuff (but since he only had one notebook he would add in a couple of lame stretches) to walk with her to their next class.

They had only one class that wasn’t the same and he would tell her goodbye, and then run to meet up his friend with the orange hair. She still did not have the guts to ask Kurosaki who he was.

At the end of their class before lunch time, Kurosaki would take off first then join her at ‘their spot’ when he had chosen his menu for the day. During the lunch break, they eat in silence; occasionally check out each other’s food and on good days talk about weird happenings in class.

Then with the hour and half left for their break, Tsurara would study and Kurosaki would nap. There was some times where he asked to borrow some of her notes, because he completely missed them in class. That usually happens when an exam is nearing.

When lunch break was over, she would wake him up and they would slowly walk to their next class together where he would immediately sit and lie down his head to sleep some more.

They had fallen into this routine without ever questioning or forcing it.

“Why do you sleep so much?” She asks absently, as they waited for their teacher to arrive.

He turns his hand in his arms, pushing some of his bangs off of his forehead to look at her.  She sighs, looking away from him to open her notebook.

“Do you not sleep at night?”

He turns his face back into his arms, inhaling deeply. He then unfolds, sitting up straight while stretching his arms up above his head.

“I work late.”

Tsurara looks at him surprised. “You work?” Kurosaki nods just as she adds on, “I need a job.”

Kurosaki leans back, pushing his lips together as he reaches for his ear. Tsurara rolls her eyes, reaching into her pencil bag for a black pen, placing it on top of his notebook.

He is surprised to feel nothing atop his ear and smiles sheepishly at Tsurara.

~x~

“Yo…come on.”

Kurosaki grabs her wrist, pulling her along as they rush through the exiting crowd.

“Eh? Matte! Where are you taking me?”

He doesn’t look back at her and he doesn’t answer her until they are off the campus. At that point he also releases her wrist.

She follows him to this grassy down-hill spot by a lakeshore where there was an oddly shaped statue at its entrance. It was quite a nice area, with a couple of trees and practically nobody around. She watches him choose a fairly leveled spot where he immediately plops down on his back, stretching out his body.

Tsurara hesitantly joins him, feeling nervous and excited that he had even considered showing her a new area. When the breeze picked up, she closes her eyes against it automatically feeling comfort in this spot.

“Sugoii.”

Kurosaki smiles with his eyes closed.

“How’d you find this spot?” Tsurara takes out her bento, noticing that Kurosaki did not have something with him to eat.

“I live nearby.”

This makes Tsurara tilt her head. They fall into their comfortable silence, but she hesitates to eat her food feeling it wrong that Kurosaki wasn’t eating with her.

“Ano… do you want to share?”

Kurosaki peaks open one eye to study her food then shakes his head. “No thanks.”

She ends up only taking a couple of bites of the food before she is putting it away to just sip on her juice box.  She assumes he is already asleep when she takes out her books to study.

As she opens up her notebook, she feels an impending yawn and covers her mouth then wipes the water from her eyes. She didn’t know what it was about that place, but it had made her feel so comfortable, she would’ve liked to be in Kurosaki’s position.

Just as she reaches to open her textbook, Kurosaki’s hand splats on top of the cover, forcing it to stay closed. She pulls her hand back and follows his arm to his face where he is looking at her dead on.

“What?”

“Do you ever take a break from that?”

“From what?”

Kurosaki waves his finger at the notebook and textbook. “That.”

“Well, I’m studying on a scholarship, so I can’t let my grades drop. My family is not rich enough to pay for my school.”

She swats his hand away, and re-opens the textbook. “Don’t you ever take a break from napping?”

He pulls his arm back to rest behind his head. “Nope. I have to work a lot in order to pay for school and housing.”

Tsurara’s movements freeze. Was that why he is always tired?

“You live by yourself? You don’t live with your family?”

“Do you live with your family?” He retorts back.

“I live with my Uncle and his family.” She answers him, in an as a matter of fact tone.

“I live by myself. For 2 years now.”

“Eh? That long?” Two years means that he was living by himself when he was in high school.

Kurosaki closes his eyes. “My father lost all of his money to a swindler and doesn’t have enough to take care of all of us. So I gave him a break and decided to take care of myself.”

She felt a pang of guilt in her chest. “Gomen-“

“Stop. I’ve been fine for the past 2 years. Don’t worry.”

His mystery was slowly uncovering and though it made her happy that he could tell her these things, what he was telling her wasn’t happy. It made her feel pity for him.

“If you want to sleep in class, I’ll take notes for you.”  She suggested which gets a small laugh out of him.

“I’m going to take you up on that.”

Tsurara nods enthusiastically. “Yeah, that’s fine.”

“Wow.” He smiles, turning his head to look at her.

She is blown away by his smile. And finds herself smiling back in response. When he looks away, she returns back to her notebook, stifling another yawn as a breeze passes through.

When she opens her eyes, Kurosaki’s hand is covering her notebook. Like a déjà vu, she follows his arm to see him staring at her again.

“Why don’t you take a break from it today?”

Tsurara looks up away from him and studies her surroundings. She comes to a conclusion from the peaceful shoreline to the breeze and noise from the trees; she probably would feel too uninspired to study anyways.

She closes her notebook and textbook, putting them aside then turns to lie flat on her back, mimicking Kurosaki’s position, except with her hands resting on her stomach.  This was kind of nice.

She closes her eyes, knowing he was doing the same. But her back begins to get stiff when she lies on it too long, so she shuffles around a bit, turning on her side towards Kurosaki, curling up slightly.

She feels a slight daze and a wave of relaxation cover her body and over her eyes. She doesn’t realize that as she was falling into a slumber, she is pulled being closer to a warmth that provided her with a pillow that seemed to be breathing.

But she paid no attention to that as everything turned black.

“Yoshida.”

Her eyes snap open and her body jumps up. “I fell asleep!”

She looks up to Kurosaki who was bending over her with her bag slung over his shoulder.

“Time to go.” He stands erect, allowing her space to stand and brush off any evidence of napping in the grass. He is already walking up the hill and she is rushed to catch up with him.

When she is at his back, his free hand pops out behind him, suspiciously looking like he was reaching out for hers. She waits a couple of seconds to make sure he was awkwardly holding his hand behind him to hesitantly place her hand in his.

As soon as she grazed it, he trapped it in his, holding it tightly. She couldn’t help but smile, feeling like a teenager all over again, experiencing a developing moment with her huge crush.

They walk back to school in silence, not letting go until they reach their seats to the next class. It didn’t take any time for Kurosaki to be drowned in his arms, quietly snoring before the class had even started.

He must’ve stayed up to make sure they had gotten to class on time.
