Halloween wasn't totally lame...just partially. Actually, I had a good time but it was nothing exciting. I went with my boss (D) to a former co-worker's house (M) and we just hung out, passed out candy and watched Dancing with The Stars. I had no choice. They all watch it every week so I was out numbered. Emmitt Smith's dancing partner totally grabbed him right in the goody bag (to keep the Halloween theme). M is a dance instructor so could totally see it coming before it happened. She took in a huge gulp of breath and the let out this scream when she made contact. Her reaction was more entertaining than the act itself. And since she has TiVo, we had to watch it several times. LOL. Cheap thrills.
There was one really good trick or treater. He was dressed like a werewolf. He had on an oversized flannel shirt with hair coming out of the top, a complete 360 wolf head mask and his hand and forearms had hair too. I guess M didn't see him and closed the door so it was barely closed and he's out there howling and pawing at the door, which was great because you could see his shadow through the glass. M let out a good shriek. It was funny.
Last weekend, MSG and I and the Girl-child and the Boy-child carved pumpkins. We are getting pretty high tech now with a batter operated carver/etcher set. The Girl-child tried an etched pattern but needed to etch more out to let the light through. It was a first attempt and I guess the pumpkin was just too thick. She made a Frankenstein Goofy. The Boy-child did a full-mast ship from Pirates of the Carribbean and MSG and I did a Haunted house on the front and a Moon/clouds on the back. It was not as good as the spider we did last year but we were more crunched for time. I think MSG took pictures last night so maybe I can get them up some time.
MSG and the Girl-child and Boy-child decorated the front yard with bones and tombstones. We also had a Morgue sign on the door and some bloody hand prints and lots of cobwebs. She sent me pics on the phone and it looked great. I really wish I could have been there.
