Back in the Good Ol' USA

Feb 27, 2007 22:32

Since I last posted I went to: Vienna and Salzburg Austria, Interlaken Switzerland, Munich, Cologne and Berlin Germany, Amsterdam Holland (yes, I tried a bit-didn't like it one bit and never will try it again. It made me cough and that is about it. I do not condone illegal activity and therefore not so much into trying again in the USA), Brussels Belgium, Paris France back to Berlin Germany, Venice Italy and Rome Italy and then to Madrid and Barcelona in Spain. ( I switched partners in Amsterdam) I cant believe I was excited to return to the USA. It is nice to see my family but really...
I liked Berlin, Munich and Spain the best. So much history in Berlin that happened in my lifetime and a relaxed atmosphere. Munich had fun beer halls. Madrid had cheap zapatos (shoes) and Barcelona was like 80F when we were there and the...tapas in Spain...nummmy. I think I liked Madrid better and I saw the famous art that I learned about in my Spanish classes and it was less full of tourists. Rome was interesting but not really organized all that well so it was hard to get around. Saw the Sistine Chapel and Vatican Museum with my family for free when I was there since it was the last Sunday of the month. I would recommend to see if you go there along with the Pantheon (also free). Venice was pretty but really just a bunch of canals and shops. Amsterdam is just one big party city but both it and Berlin have a nice free tour. Paris was friendlier than people say and I saw the louvre for free bc I was there Friday after 6pm and was under 26 years old. I liked Salzburg better than Vienna. Beautiful mountains and walking trails. Vienna was pretty and would be interesting if I could afford the museums. Brussels had good chocolate but not so much to do that I could find. Interlaken is mostly for skiers but there were some great hiking trails which can take up a few days and is a nice place to relax after seeing busy cities. So that is my European adventure.
I am now in Big Lake, MN. I am applying for jobs both career type and part time. Fun times. Why did I get into such a low paying line of work?? Wish me luck. Let me know of any job openinings in the social services in the Twin Cities
