Back in Iowa Now
Wow it has been awhile. I am not good at updating this. Summer was a bit (a lot) disappointing. Issues with the camp director made things difficult. She was just very demeaning to staff and scared some campers with it...not good. I hope the council takes the complaints made about her seriously. Anyway, finished my firs week of school. Next week i start my practicum at the Jesse Cosby Neighborhood Center for African Am. Senior Citizens. Should be interesting. I will focus on the admin side of the work. Honestly, i really do not know what i am getting into. I think my classes will be interestign this year though. They are less generalist and will get into more of the topics of what i want to do and sound more practical for the field. I have a class on organizational development and networking, a general class on admin social work, a class on group therapy (an elective that is required for the micro practice people, but not us admin folk) and a research class (yuck). 17 credits total like last semester. That means next semester i will only need to take like 12!! WOOHOO! just like a real grad student! Had some visitors this past week, Dirt and DB. It was a lot of fun having someone to come home to after class. Now I almost with i had a roomie. Now i am at my sisters in madison with my family for the weekend. we went to the state park for swimming and a picnic. what family fun. ok, bye now
