(no subject)
This isn't really going to be an update, more of a venting. I was watching Dr. Phil today, like every other day, and they had previews for the news, like they always do. Now for the most part I don't even bother with the news anymore, and it kinda stems back to 9/11. I've never really liked the media, and how they handled that time was, in my opinion, disgusting. Another reason is because I'm located near Philly, and Philly news is always plagued with murder and shit, I just don't really enjoy sitting and listening to it. Anyway, I caught a glimpse of the "home video" looking thing with what appeared to be an american soldier. I had the TV on mute because I was talking to my friend on the commercial break. So, I unmuted it, and I immediately started tearing up. I understand this is what happens in war, and I'm fucking upset about what may/may not have happened on that tape. What pisses me off even fucking more is the fact that they have the fucking NERVE to show it on TV!!!!!!! WHY THE FUCK IS THAT? It makes NO FUCKING SENSE! AND IT PISSES ME THE FUCK OFF! So yeah....curiosity got the best of me and I figured it would be one of the first segments of the news, and I wouldn't have to suffer through much other crap. Well it turns out that they're just fucking speculating that this man was killed. AGAIN WHAT THE FUCK????????????????? Hello!!!!!!! His family might be watching! So I sat there, FUMING and I'm thinkin....ok I'm sure all of this stuff was discussed with his family, and they prob know what may/may not have happened to their son/brother/husband/father....whatever he may be. But come on man, what happens if they see it, like fucking seriously this shit just pisses me off. Or....suppose one of his long lost friends, or another family member who might not have known about it or ANYONE who knew him sees it, and are sitting there like, well is he dead or is he alive? I just don't understand it what so ever. And this is just another fucking reason I hate the media. It's like when they showed footage from the ACTUAL video of Nick Berg being decapitated (sp?). I just can't understand how they have no respect for the person, or the people involved in the situation. I dunno, the whole war to this day boggles my mind. And you all know I love my man Bush, but I just don't understand why we can't keep our noses out of other peoples business. It's not my decision to make though, so whatever. And I know it has nothing really to do with him, even though all the nay sayers/conspiracy theorists would love to believe so, this would have happened had anyone other than Bush been in office. Maybe it was inevitable, who the fuck knows? I'm just glad my cousin is home safe and sound after being over there for a year. I think that's another reason this upsets me so much. I mean I can't freakin imagine sitting around just watching the news and seeing someones face on the screen that you know and love....and then to fucking find out they don't even know the whole fucking story. It's all just fucking ridiculous if you ask me. I guess that's all, just had to get that off my chest. ;:|
