I'm feeling sleepy after lunch, and falling asleep while sitting on the sofa, while A is lying asleep on my tummy and lap. He likes sleeping on his tummy but only on me, when i try it on the bed he just complains and wriggles. Hopefully he'll like it eventually and sleep soundly!

I think he's been going through a major growth spurt. The last 3 weeks he's only poo'd every 6 days and the rest of the milk (which he's taking at around 2 hour intervals) so I think he must be absorbing everything. Last night he was fed at 230, 4, 5, 6 and I can't remember the early morning feeds because I've been rather sleep deprived. Demanding milk every 2 hours has also taken over my life. Sometimes it takes half an hour to feed him and another half or more of an hour to settle him to nap. Which leaves me maybe 5 minutes for maybe some bodily functions. It's almost like taking part in Subaru's Impreza Challenge.

I haven't stopped keeping track of the feeds, but on some days I simply absolutely cannot remember when the last feed was. Even though it was probably 1-2 hours earlier. This must be the effects of the sleep deprivation, although other than that I seem to be able to get by the day without any wanting to collapse onto the floor in exhaustion. On some days I can't even find the time to sneak in a nap, although it's definitely easier when I'm at home with the ILs since there are people to watch the monsters, and I'm usually half asleep by the time I have a shower after dinner, but of course I don't get to bed until 1am at the best.

So wish me luck that this growth spurt will be over soon - in earlier weeks, A was actually easier in the night, with only 1 feed every 3 or 4 hourly, so I'm hoping he'll revert to that soon. Meanwhile, I have to work on getting him onto a decent 3-hour schedule (it hasn't been so easy when my MIL is keen to give him milk everytime he cries), and then to try and sleep peacefully by himself instead of waking up 5 minutes after every time he's put down.

baby life, baby a
