The best advice I received wasn't verbal at all, and as cliche as it sounds, it came from this amazing girl I befriended on myspace.
Shannon was probably the very first person I can recall that I began talking on that site back in 2004. She was this ANAZING black and white vintage inspired photographer and I can vividly remember just studying the hell out of her photographs - the angles, the lighting, the secenery, the model's expression. Exquisite.
So with my little $75 digital camera, I would almost obsessively try to recreate what she had done. I took pictures of windows, trees during a rain storm, still live or things in motion, my friends when they didn't notice, even of myself being the photographer and the subject.
I'm not going to attempt to say I'm nearly as good as her but she really helped me pick up on a new endeaver and I realy appreciate that.
writer's block,
hpphotography,
what do you have to say?
