A week of "lasts"

Dec 08, 2005 17:48

It's official, I have survived Hell Week. Except for the hour of sleep I allowed myself this morning, I have been awake since 9 a.m. on Tuesday. That's right, 1 hour of sleep within the last 57 hours. I must be out of my fucking mind.
But I got two of my exam projects/papers out of the way. My last day of classes, EVER, is over. The last issue of the NorthWind in which my name can be found on the paper's masthead has been printed. My last post-NorthWind Pancake House breakfast has been enjoyed, in the company of lovely, though sleep-deprived and giddy, fellow staffers. If I can pull something together for my Public Affairs final by next Tuesday at 5, I'll be out of here in exactly 9 days. Im excited, but it's actually quite scary and sad at the same time.
But I will have more time to reflect on the oddness of my situation later this week. For now, I need to lay down and let myself recover a bit. Because as happy as I am to finally get a chance to sleep, tommorrow is another full day. Important calls and research for my EN406 article must be done between 9am and noon. My last official meeting as a member of the NorthWind staff is at noon, followed by my last day as an intern at the Marquette Monthly. And when I leave the office, Mom should be in town to help get some things moved out.
And with that, I say goodnight.
