Rarely Pure and Never Simple
by missfoxie
Pairing: Laura/D'Anna
Rating: NC17
Disclaimers: These characters do not belong to me. They belong to Ron Moore. If they belonged to me, Roslin would get the sex she deserves, i.e. actually get some.
A/N: This is my much delayed and then incredibly forgotten about (obviously!) response to the Get Laura Laid ficathon ( Read more... )

Thank you muchly! I'm absolutely thrilled that you like it/1

I worked my ass off on this fic. That ficathon was full of all the coolest and best writers in the fandom, and I didn't wanna make a tit of myself. Nice to know that I managed not to. :D

Here's the masterlist entry: http://jennyo.livejournal.com/642664.html
No, I don't think either jennyo or fox1013 has the time or indeed the BSG fannish mojo to do it again. But we do instead have Make Laura Happy, which has the same glorious objective. ;)

Hee, thanks. That means a lot.

Ooh, yes. That always gets some great writers involved too. Thus you should definitely write for it. ;)

Tory is gonna be all shagged out.

...Lucky cow.

You are good. It really does, and this belief may be because I'm more familiar with the work and the personalities of the femslashers, but I rather believe the femslashers to be far, far better. Maybe it's because they have to work harder. Or it's 'cause I'm biased. ;) Some femslashers also write fantastic het fic too.

*gropes your icon* Preeeeeeetty.....

Me too, me too. It takes me a lot of work, but OOC Laura is too abominable for me to do anything less.

I haven't been involved in one before either. Either they passed me by or I avoided them because they revolved around a pairing I hated. There just seems to me to be a distinct difference in the type of person who writes femslash and those who write A/R. The two communities have very different writing styles. Yes, that was another part of why I was so intimidated writing this fic because everyone writing around me was so incredibly smart. I still find it hard to believe that the awesome (and scarily smart) projectjulie beta-read this fic for me. I can't believe I had the guts to give my work to her to scrutinise. She was utterly fantastic though, so kind and so very helpful.

*wants with all her heart to go and dance with Laura*

That is totally the way to think about it. I may adopt it. And OMG YES, a great number of people would do well to adopt the same way of thinking. [Then maybe smercy wouldn't have to leave three part comments XD].

J/7 was just so completely closed off to me as I cannot stand Seven of Nine. Not at all. With TWW fandom, I was mainly CJ/Toby (and CJ/Danny and CJ/Josh) and there didn't seeme to be much femslash around either. It was only with the discovery of Wing Swing that I became aware of it. Maybe it's because of all the 3 main female TWW characters, two are pretty set in cast-iron OTPs (Josh/Donna and Abbey/Jed). And that is exactly the same fandom journey I went on with regards to BSG. Bloody hell, am I glad I did ( ... )

Yup, I was a total J/Cer until the later seasons when he seemed to lose whatever little brains, balls and charm he had in the first place. And do not even talk to me about C/7. I had the same thing with Janeway/Torres. The only fics I found were rather pedestrian PWPs.

Oh God, their angst is MAGNIFICENT. And it is never ever emo, just mature and real and human. TWW works better for xovers than it does for femslash within the boundaries of the show. It just doesn't seem very femslashy at all. Thus tis our duty to get CJ damn good girl!sexing.

*grins* I KNOW. Once I realised that "Hey, I could pair Laura with anyone I want", there was noooo going back.

*pssst* -- Yes, it was, but I've had to put that idea on the shelf for now. I want to do better than the MLH timelimit allows, put more thought and plot into it, etc (plus, my use of the 'water' prompt was tenuous at best, lol). I will write it one day though. I've had the idea for so long now it's gotta happen some time. Plus now I know I can do xovers for MLH, I'm sure I'll do it for another challenge. For MLH, I'm gonna do another pairing, and I'll try to cater to kinks certain people have as well. ;)

Hee. I'm proud that I'm the person who poked freifraufischer into writing Laura/Jordan. They are frakkin' HOT together. And it is indescribably hot to imagine Jordan saying "Do you know how many clauses of the Geneva Convention you broke today?". Mmmmmm. Can't wait til our fellow Trinity member properly mets Jordan, hope she likes.
