*grins* Glad to have made your night. If you have half as much fun picturing them as I did when writing it, it's a job well done. My brain just went like this: femslash100 prompt of "school" --> school = teaching --> Laura was a teacher --> Laura can teach Janeway how to cook! *diesfromcutenessandhotness* et voila!
Hee, I know. Mary's so damn cute with her lil artfully-screencapped pout.
Ohhhh darling, me likes! Crossover fluff is always good.
I think I need to know more about Janeway, am I right? How can I go about doing that?
"But I learnt your quantum mechanics, all those hideous equations." - I can just picture Laura saying this. Maybe with the artfully screencapped pout ;-)
"Teach me how to cook desserts...and how best to eat them." - Can Laura teach us this? Because desserts + Laura = YES.
You = win for this. Now get cracking on fat!Lee reformation!!
Indeed you could do with knowing more about Janeway. The character kicked ass despite inconsistent and typically 'Trek' writing, and the actress Kate Mulgrew was my first sexy-older-woman fangirling crush (I flew to NYC for her: 'nuff said). Honestly, she is gorgeous and utterly adorable. If you remind me, I'll bring up some good Janeway episodes with me when I visit the Home of The Moog.
Laura + desserts = me in a puddle of goo on the floor at the mere thought. Bet she's a total hedonist when it comes to indulgent desserts. Mmmmmmm.
Fat!Lee reformation? Why, but I've already started that (granted it might very well never get finished but the plot is there in IM conversations).
You made my day. J/R fic of the fluffy sort, with cooking and oh --naughty desserts...is such sweet wonderfulness. Very clever use of dialogue and I love the humor. :) Loved it!
*smiles* Aww, it's a pleasure, thought you might appreciate this little thing.
I think this came about when I was trying to do a Femslash100 drabble on the prompt of 'school'. I thought of the cooking and quantum mechanics teaching and then out of nowhere, the two women's voices just started talking in my head. Doing it entirely with dialogue was also an added aspect of fun. :D
I don't know how I could've missed this; I usually keep my eyes peeled for J/R fic or anything that concerns the women of BSG, even.
Dialogue is a skill and I'm so glad to see you flexing those writing muscles in this piece. Absolutely enjoyed reading this fic! I'm glad you pointed me in the right direction because...thesis is killing me!
I think I must have just posted it at some random time, and posted it only on my journal. I looked back at it the other day and realised you might not have seen it.
Doing a piece made purely of dialogue was so much fun and such a challenge to do. I don't tend to have much confidence in my ear for dialogue but sometimes I get lucky and the characters just start talking in my head. It happened here, and it happened in the D'Anna/Laura piece too. I love it when that happens. :D
Aww, good luck with the thesis and I hope you manage to keep most of the associated woes at bay.
