Henryton Center...
This morning at 6:30 am, my 2 friends I who normally do crazy outings together went to a place called Henryton Center in Sykesville, Maryland. Its an old abandoned TB and mental health/hygiene hospital. It sits deep into the Patapsco State Park in the middle of an area where hunters go to hunt deer. There are several buildings which include a school,administration offices,medical facility,storage areas, and rooming quarters for people staying long term.
Keep in mind I've been to several abandoned places before that have stories to have been haunted. I knew not much about this place yet and had not done any reading up on it prior to going there. Not knowing what to expect I just figured it would be our regular day of hiking and exploring...
To make a long story short, I got pretty creeped out in there. It takes a lot for me to feel this way, as I do not scare easily.
We were using my friend's digital camera and took a LOT of photos..Midway through our tour, we walked down this one hallway that was so dark and gloomy. I said to my friend, "hey wouldn't that be some crazy shit if we caught orbs in our photos here?" He snapped a picture right after I said that, and I swear to God there is this HUGE orb in our photo in the middle of the hallway we were standing in..One of my friends, being the sceptic he is says "oh thats just dust"..We took a few more pictures-one after the other..the one immmediately after the huge orb picture had nothing in it, then the next few had two floating in them in different places on each. We found ourselves starting to get obsessed with taking pictures and looking for more orbs..Some rooms and hallways had nothing, but one floor seemed to have the most pictures with either one or two of them floating about. I CAN'T WAIT for him to email me the pictures so I can share them with everyone-whether you believe in ghostly activity or not.
This is so exciting for me! I am a pretty sceptical one myself, but I started believing more seriously in ghosts when I caught several orbs in photos taken at Jaxx at a concert in Virginia. I did some research back then on the pictures and even submitted a few photos to a ghost hunting site, and was suprised to find out they were for real.
We left around noon without finishing the facility. We plan to go back probably next weekend to complete our tour. Yes, there is no trespassing warnings there,but we take our chances..I hear all you will get is issued a citation to appear in court and pay a small fine if caught, so I'm not so much worried.
I'm seriously thinking of getting more serious about all of this. I didn't see it as a ghost hunting exploration until today-just as checking out old abandoned places. Now I'm looking at it in a different light. I can't wait to find the morgue..
