My band is back together! Maybe I didn't even tell you but I had been "taking some time off" from it--mainly coz I kept thinking, "Oh, I have only played guitar for a tiny amount of time, I am not awesome enough to be in a band, I will just focus on my learnings and THEN when I am GOOD, then I can be in a band." But then Scott asked me about it the other night and as I was fixin' to launch into all that, all those why-nots, it occurred to me that that is all just the stupid typical bullshit I like to come up with in order to talk myself out of doing things that kind of freak me out. Coz trying to be in a band kind of freaks me out. Coz eventually you try and PLAY somewhere. For PEOPLE. Who can SEE you. And while I can keep my little writerly activities all secret and private for as long as I want (which, actually, is another area where really I just spend a shitload of time convincing myself that I am not good enough to REALLY try), to be in a band is something else. Coz my bandmate, sweet as she is, isn't going to be like "Yeah sweet let's just play by ourselves in the friggen PARK forever, dumbass!"

So but yeah! I am stoked! And Judith has two new songs written which are like bring-tears-to-my-eyes beautiful.
