Ravelympics 2010

Mar 02, 2010 10:01

I have completed the winter Ravelympics 2010. If I had more time to myself, I would have been more ambitious, like maybe finally completing the sweater I started...I can't even remember how many years ago it was now. But it was a while.

This year, I decided I wanted to make some little treats for myself from sock yarn that weren't socks.

This is Meine Kalte Liebe (Rav link.) Knitted from 2 hanks of Colorful Yarn Silk and Silver used doubled on size 6 needles.

I promise, there will be a better picture of this coming after it finishes getting washed. The colours are running, so it's in a vinegar bath right now.

Next is the Boneyard Kerchief (another Rav link.) This was knitted from a half skein each of Zen Garden Sea Sock and Pagewood Farm Yukon Hand Dyed sock yarn. I'm going to crochet the remainder into another kerchief with the remnants of the Silk and Silver.

The next Ravelympics will be for the 2012 Summer Olympics. It's too far off to know what I will do then. I do know this: I enjoy having these challenges to push myself to complete something regardless of how much time I have. Maybe by then I'll have more time to complete something bigger...like Angelina.
