"Close the door behind you," MinHo said, stepping into his house with the stranger child still holding his hand tightly.
When he seen the younger boy didn't do as asked, he sighed and did it himself.
"Welcome home, sweetie!" MinHo's mother greeted appearing in the living room. "Oh, my. Who is this?" She motioned towards the young child.
"In all honesty, I don't know," MinHo bowed his head, ashamed of bringing someone neither he or his family knew.
"Why is he here then?" His mother questioned eying the young boy. "Why did you take him home with you if you have no clue who he is?"
"I cut through the park on my way home and I found him being abused and raped, I asked him what was wrong but he didn't give me an answer and then I asked him where he lived but he didn't give me an answer once again," MinHo explained, "So instead of leaving him out there all beat up and in the rain I took him home."
"Poor baby!" His mother exclaimed, hugging the nameless boy, "What is your phone number? I'll call your parents and tell them to come get you!"
The boy didn't respond, he simply stood there awkwardly.
"Oh... Why won't you reply to me?" She took the boy by the hand and dragged him into the kitchen, motioning for MinHo to follow.
She pushed the boy down into one of the kitchen table chairs.
"Listen child," She started scolding, "You shall listen to me, and you will reply to me. You can't stay here, so I need to know your phone number or where you live."
"What the hell's scolding gonna do?" MinHo asked, leaning in the doorway.
"I don't know. I figured that if I scared him enough he'd talk. Apparently that won't work..." She waved her hand in front of the boy's face, "Hello? Anyone home?"
The boy grabbed her hand and wrapped it around his own, moving his hand around.
"C...a...n... y...o...u... u...n...d...e...r...s...t...a...n...d... m...e" She spelled out as the boy moved his hand around awkwardly in hers.
"What the fuck?" MinHo asked, watching the scene in front of him confused.
"He signing to me," She paused waiting for the boy to continue spelling words out, "C...a...n... y...o...u... s...a...y... s...o...m...e...t...h...i...n...g... i...f... y...o...u... c...a...n"
"And are you capable of under-- never mind, I guess you can." MinHo said, chuckling at his own stupidity.
MinHo's mother started signing back to the boy, stating out loud what she said, "Yes... I... can... understand... you..."
The boy smiled as she continued, "I... know... what... happened... to... you... and... I... am... very... sorry..." She paused, making sure the boy was following. When he nodded she continued, "Can... I... know... where... you... live... so.... we... can... take... you... home..."
The boy's lip started trembling and his eyes filled with tears, "I... d...o...n...t... h...a...v...e... a... h...o...m...e... a...n...y...m...o...r...e..." He signed with a trembling hand.
MinHo's mother pulled the crying boy into her arms, making sure that one of their hands were still free so they could communicate, "How... come... you... don't... have... a... home.. anymore..."
