Ohai thar, Karma!

Two things to be excited about right now: FREE COFFEE and my boss's boss's boss told my boss exactly what I had been wanting to say for over a year now. No wait... SINCE I STARTED.

Let me start this out by saying that I have been working retail pretty much my entire adult life. Over 10 years now. And it's always been the same, no matter where I have worked. Store managers do not get special privileges.

It has always been that there are 4 managers. One store manager, one assistant store manager and two part-time managers. All store managers would work any day of the week and at least two closing shifts per week. We have 3 full-time managers (store manager, assistant store manager and one other) and two part-time managers (I am one of those part-time managers). And my store manager never closes. Ever.

Back when I first started working there, It was exactly how it normally is. Two full-time and two part-time. She would rotate the schedules so that managers only had to work one Sunday a month. Which is great. We all had our Sundays and it was fair. That was until she randomly hired another manager. Out of nowhere. That took from MY hours. And conveniently for her, there were 5 managers, so she didn't see the necessity of working her Sundays anymore. She hasn't worked a Sunday shift since October. We all had one Sunday a month, so it didn't change for us.

Apparently this is her stance on everything: "I have been with the company for 18 years. I deserve special privileges." Guess what, bitch? THERE ARE NO SPECIAL PRIVILEGES IN RETAIL. EVER. And that is pretty much what our regional director told her today. She has to work on Sundays and work two closing shifts per week. HOLY FUCKING HALLELUJAH CHRIST ON A CROSS. It's about damn time someone told her that shit.

And they also told her that the store matrix is that there are only supposed to be 4 managers. DUH. She should know that shit. So she is probably going to have to demote the other part-time manager. But at this point, I am trying to find another job, so I might take the demotion just so I can keep working there while making more somewhere else (hey, I love my discount!).

Anyway, after the big bosses left, she was complaining. It took everything inside me not to exclaim, "HAAA!!! IN YOUR FACE!!!" when I heard about the Sundays and closing shifts. My god. I was dancing on the inside.

omg this coffee is delicious.
