Talking to Rose at Fight Club had taken her mind off things for a while, but when Jaina got back to her room afterward, the first thing she did was check her phone and then all the worry came back.
As was becoming slight habit, she then scrapped the draft of the E-mail she'd started last night at the bar and started a new one.
To: John Sheppard From: Jaina Solo Subject: This is what happens when you're not here
I'd like to say first off that it was NOT MY FAULT, but going in to work last night somehow led to me getting roped into 3 Minute Dates. I know exactly what face you're making, and you can stop. Once I calmed down about it, it was more like three minutes to just hang out with people I mostly knew already, and it was actually sort of fun. I might have to field a lot of questions for the next few days, so if your ears start burning all the way over there as I assure everyone things are fine, that's why.
(And tiny Mom had to have a date with George. Yes, that George. He said it was weird when he found out, so let's all be grateful for that and don't tease me about it too much.)
In other news, it was supposed to be two years tops, and it's been twenty-eight days. WHERE ARE YOU?
