The view from my room, looking down on Canal towards Royale, Bourbon, etc.
The same view at 7:45 am. Fog, to say the least. About a half hour later, the air was clear. Wierd weather down here. Humid as all hell.
Home away from home. 9x10 exhibit booth. Excellent pound cake on my chair was breakfast. Shit to give away on the tables. ADDED BONUS, you may notice the house phone is on the wall next to our booth, so all the random hotel personel have to come and stand in there to use the phone.
a closer look at my breakfast.
Math people...it's hard to capture the real characters at the meeting without being blatantly obvious. I've spotted a few which i hope to get a few photos of tomorrow. I have to say this picture doesn't do the crowd justice. It's missing: men with ponytails, old men with pants up to their bowties, sandals and socks, bad acne, mountian man beards, guys that look like Ted Kazinski, token lesbians teachers, and many more. Tomorrow I will try hard to take some more pictures, today was really busy. In the picture below, you have to look closely, but the "Ted Kazinski" mountain man is in there in the back..see beard, hat, and red and black lumbajack. that wooden structure in the back, Math Art.
Had lunch at the Red Fish Grille, very interesting art above the bar...at this point I was ready to sample a little something from the numerous bottles below.
Party bus to the max on Canal Street after walking back from one of the best steak dinners I've ever had at
Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse. The
Brennan family are famous restaurantures in New Orleans, and they own 13 restaurants. So far I've had last night's dinner, today's lunch and dinner in a Brennan family establishment. They know good food for sure and the service is almost over the top. They are rich. Super rich.
After dinner I took a stroll down the other side of Bourbon street with the girl I'm exhibiting with...watched a short bit of a naughty bits window show with some playas...looked at some HUSTLER covers and wondered why people bring their children within a 5 block radius of Bourbon street. I'm glad we strolled through, but in all honesty it's a bit to sexy for me...and that's SEXXY.
Tommorrow I'm looking forward to ducking out durring the day to take some pictures and go in some stores that don't sell dildos, boas or involve flashing lights.
In conclusion, day two was a good day...a tiring day...a boring day...a good day for food...a business casual on saturday, day.
