Well, it is good to know that I am consistent. I am in crunch mode preparing for a conference presentation February 17th. When I am in crunch mode, I seem to have one CD that I listen to nonstop as I work. With my dissertation, I perseverated on Dwell. So, think about it, Dwell nonstop for two and a half months as I did not sleep much during that time!!!! The CD still plays...I did not wear it out. Well, I am transcribing data and coding and the CD that seems to work for me to listen to nonstop is U2 How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb. Bono singing about the smell of freedom like the top of a newborn baby's head while transcribing nursery school classroom interactions in ASL provides a one of a kind experience. Arlington has this really wonderful community coffee place that doesn't try to be pretentiously coffee clache. (Not dissing any other coffee shops, no really.) I work here and they have free internet access. WooHoo.
Bono is singing about Time which tells me it is time to get back to the deaf 18 month old exploring the phone. It is really one of my favorite clips in my data bank...
Oh, a grandfather just walked in with his granddaughter. SMILE she brought her school books and he is getting a cup of coffee. Fun across the generations...
OK, back to the phone clip...
OH, BTW, don't get the nasty cold/flu thing going around. It is a tremendous drain, fever and all. Glad it is over.
Ciao, babies
