Bob Seger is singing "You'll Accomp'ny Me" on my iTunes as I try to read chapter three of my speech science textbook. Chapter three is entitled "Standing Waves in Air Columns." Making flashcards of the bolded words was yielding a general confusion in my brain, so I've decided to just read the chapter first and then go back and make flashcards. My brain just isn't trained to think scientifically. I read a paragraph, but when I get to the end I have no idea what I've just read. I have to go back and really think about each phrase, picture it in my head, and then wait until it makes sense before I move on to the next paragraph.
Dear Graciela Lucero-Hammer, I never thought I'd say this, but I miss your jacked-up classes. Spanish makes good sense to me. Science takes a lot more work. Love, Liz.
