I just poured my first mug of coffee for the morning and it seems darker than usual. I thought I put the regular amount in, but I've been going through these little sample packs of different blends that Susan got me, and maybe that matters more than I thought. Today is Caffee Verona, which I'm pretty sure ought to be less dark than Gold Coast. Oh well, it tastes good.

Yesterday I took The Last American Man in my bag to work and got to start reading it. I actually made some good headway into it, because Blanche and Betsy had to go to the funeral for Mrs. Lindsay's father and so I sat at Betsy's desk and answered the phones. When I pulled the book out of my bag, Leanna said, "is that a new book?"
"Yeah, I haven't started it yet."
"Wait, so you finished the one you were reading after Bastard Out of Carolina?"
"The Power of One. Yeah. It was really good."
"Liz." She rolled her eyes. "We are going to instate one of those reading contests that they do in elementary school, and you are going to get a prize. You read more books than anyone I know."

Rylan told me I was his best friend at Skatehaven, and then apparently when Shannon told him that Susan and I are coming to his game tomorrow he said, "awesome! Now all my best friends are going to be there!" I am so excited.
He's seven.
I thought he played tee ball but Shannon informed me last night that he plays coach pitch, single A, so by the end of the season they'll be having kids pitch. Awesome. I am so excited; I don't know when I've watched a Little League game. Wait. Yes I do. Last year Jessica Hiestand and Kelsie Slaughter played Little League and Maggie and I walked to the FHS fields by our house once and watched them. It was great.
