I had a long email from Amelia this morning, which made me ridiculously happy. She's one of my favorites.
I called my mom this morning to tell her I'm not really as ready as I thought I'd be to leave for the weekend, and that I'd not be able to come straight from work to the house with my things. After I'd told her that, though, I got some stuff together, and straighted up the apartment, and put away the clean dishes, so by the time I left the house I was actually much closer to being ready than I'd expected. I just have to go pack my bag and run the trash outside.
No one in the office means I have quiet in which to read (and maybe finish) The Big Money by John Dos Passos, which I've been picking up and putting back down for weeks.
Karrie is in the office on Fridays. She might be my favorite coworker, even though she's only here once a week.
Netflix received the two movies I mailed back, and I should be getting the new Pirates of the Caribbean and the second Law & Order discs this weekend while I'm gone.
I'm wearing that delicious sweater that used to be Susan's, and it's heavy and warm and soft.
I had time to drink my entire allotment of coffee this morning, and it's the perfect amount - no caffeine headaches, no withdrawal symptoms, no sudden crash after the caffeine wears off. This seldom happens. Yesterday I went on a Starbucks run for the office and it ended up being too much caffeine I think, and my head felt too heavy for the remainder of the day.
I'm wearing polkadot socks that Melissa sent.
I brought leftover Burke Street pizza from last night to eat for lunch. Susan and I picked it up and then went home and watched the Indigo Girls Watershed DVD that my brother gave me for Christmas, and talked about how much we love Amy Ray, and laughed, and Susan sang along with the songs.
It's sunny!! You have no idea how much that matters.
