Crown and other stuff
Two weeks ago Rue and I went to Crown in the Cities. floppycorpse was gracious and let us stay at her abode. Rue drove and we took the route through Mankato. Lots of leaves were down but it was still a pretty drive. The tourney was fun. Caught up with a few people I haven't talked to in ages. Also spent much time talking officer stuffu. The fighting was good. Finals came down to Iggy and Wulfgar with Wulfgar winning for Devon. Wulfgar I don't know very well but it will be fun watching Devon be Queen. She has been a doer for ages so it will be interesting to see folks do for her. Earlier in the day she asked me if was nervous when Hagan fought for me. I told her it was rather a blur and I didn't remember. Both Rue and Nailz said yes you were nervous. So there you go.
Oct 12 was my work anniversary. I have been at USD for 16 years. Doesn't seem that long and I really can't wrap my head around the fact that I am one of the old timers now. It has helped that I haven't done the same thing during all that time. I started out in the cataloging department copy cataloging reference books, CDs, videos and kids books. After a year there they eliminated that position and moved me to the archives. I worked in the archives for eight years until I got tired of organizing papers and then went to work at the med library information desk. Then the main library and the med library merged and my job morphed into my current one where I manage web pages and electronic resources such as journals and databases.
Last weekend was girls night at the lake. Was nice to get away for even a little while.
This week has been pretty good except for the news that my gran has another fracture. This one is above her knee. Thankfully it isn't to painful but no good when your bones get brittle.
On an upside I am going over to the Neal's tonight and we are going to try our hand at making zuppa toscana. Should be good!
