My luggage is in Manila, and I'm in Melbourne Australia. Why is my luggage in Manila?
Because there was a BIG HOLE IN MY PLANE! It was kinda horrifying while it was going on, but as soon as the plane was stabilized, I was fine. My seat mate was close to a panic attack, and I calmed her down as we were both breathing o2.
The press says it was plummeting 20,000 feet, it didn't really plummet. At no time did we feel that it was out of the pilot's control, but it was pretty bumpy and tilty for a bit. I was upstairs, in business class and didn't see the debris, and none of us saw the hole in the plane until we were on the ground.
When we landed in Manila, Qantas took the first & business classes, and elite frequent flyers to the Sofitel. I don't know what happened to the people in Coach.
When we made it to Melbourne this morning, Qantas asked us to follow up on Monday and gave us a little spending money for the weekend.
I can only imagine if this happened on United. They would figure out a way to blame the passengers and give them nothing.
My company has been unbelievable supportive, the emails/phone calls haven't stopped yet.
