DONE!!!

Jun 04, 2010 10:27

So, I just pulled an all-nighter to finish my final paper for this quarter, and I'm now officially DONE. It is summer! Not that you'd be able to tell at the moment, since apparently LA has decided to be oddly gray today. Still a lovely 70 degrees out, though, so I won't complain.

But yes, it has been turned in, and I'm about to turn myself into bed. I have until about 6:30 at which point I have to get up and go see my friends act in/direct an original musical. In fact, the only things I have to do now before I drive home are see plays my friends are involved in and pack. Sweet.

Then when I get home, I unpack and see my friend in a play. Lovely symmetry there: thanks, Sarah, for making that possible.

Current acting crush update: John Simm. (thus the icon, though I've had it for a while) I loved him in Doctor Who, but now that I've started in on Life On Mars, I'm addicted to his sheer range of awesome. Though perhaps I'm misinterpreting and he just does bat shit fucking crazy/emotional roller coaster really damn well.

Speaking of the many many gigs of video that live on my computer, I had to buy another hard drive today. 1.5 TB this time, and I'm sure I'll fill it up within the year. Once it arrives and I've got it installed I'll have 3.5TB of storage on this behemoth. Just for fun (since I'm totally a geek) I calculated exactly how much I was paying per GB, and it came out to be 6.5 cents. Including tax and S&H. Did you know that about 10 years ago the going rate for a GB of storage was 43 dollars? And that in 1980 a GB of storage would cost $193,000? Of course in 1980 there wasn't enough shit on computers that you'd need gig, and you'd have to buy a fuck ton of hard drives since the biggest size they had was 26MB. So that comes to a decrease in price of nearly three million percent. Mind blowing, right? Petabytes, here we come!
