I swear it wasn't on purpose!

Heck of a morning trying to go in to do my required half day. First I walked down the front indoor stairs and around the building since I was sure the concrete slab on the back outdoor stairs was likely an ice slick. I had some leftover safe ice melt so I tossed some on there and also around my car.

But then I realized that I totally forgot my snow scraper. Ugh. I wasn't about to gingerly walk all the way back around and inside so I did the best I could with what I had on hand. Fortunately it was only my drivers side window and a bit of the windshield that was obstructed and I was able to get that cleaned enough to be safe enough to drive while heating up the car. It was 8F out so that was fun.

I got to work and was pissed off that the only spot NOT cleared in the lot was the disabled spot. Seriously?!? Fortunately the one next to it was free since I got in rather early so I parked there. I hobbled inside, started to get logged in, only to find that I had forgotten my phone. This is important because even though the University doesn't pay for it, we all have to use our phones to get validation numbers to log into our email and files. So for the most part I was dead in the water and there was no way I was going to drive home, walk back around the building, get my phone and do the production of getting back to work. So I did what little I could get done in an hour and a half including filing a ticket so that the facilities people will clear the damned disabled space and hopefully put more salt down since there was a lovely ice slick in the lot.

I got back home, put more safe salt around my car, walked up the outdoor stairs since the concrete slab was in better shape and put the rest of the safe salt I had right in front of my door. The sun had melted and refroze on and right below my door.

I got inside and poor JonJon started wheezing. Not only is their poor air quality over here today but it's cold and dry. So I now have both air cleaners on and I ran the shower a while. He's also overdue for a hairball horking.

So yeah, it's a Monday.
