Dr. Sketchy's tonight in Atlanta
Hey folks!
Last week the luscious Lori Gami invited me back to Dr. Sketchy's tonight for "April Avengers... with Ana Aesthetic!" Yeah, with a name like that it's sure to be chock full of super hero and villain awesomeness!
Of course, last minute I decide I want a new costume. Going through my "to be" and "dreams of" fabric pile, I discovered something I put off doing last year. Wanda Maximof aka Scarlet Witch! With everything in hand, I got to work. It's a bit of a rush job, and I plan to remake the leotard in the very near future (or ask Miss Shelly of Inhale Corsets to do it for me, as she is my go-to girl for all thing corseted - oh, and I should promote my company more ;D)
I'd say I put a little over 10 hours into this - most of it being last Thursday from Noon to 8 doing THE ENTIRE COSTUME. I was very good about taking progress pics, which I posted in close to real time over on my Face Book Page (which you should join, as it's where I talk most about my swing adventures).
But this is what I accomplished:
All and all, I'm happy and super excited to wear her tonight!!! I ran into a problem Friday night when I found out the boots I ordered were held up in customs, but lucked out at getting a pair of super sexy thigh high red vinyl boots at Junk Man's daughter on clearance! I'm sure I can re-appropriate them for something else in the future.
Joe's making the head piece for me out of Sintra. Again, version one, as the guy didn't have the thicker stuff in stock and I feel it'll be a little to flimsy to wear at cons and in windy areas. It looks amazing though, trust me!
