question about textures on Gimp
ive been hitting a little snag every time i try to do this so i was hoping one of you gods of graphic design fellow LJrs might help me out :).
ive been downloading some more textures on Gimp, but ive encountered a few (mostly on deviantArt) that are downloaded as .rar and i cannot open them. the ones i have no problem downloading come as .jpg and then i simply 'open as layer' and apply to my image.
is there a way for me to convert those .rar textures into .jpg (or something else that would enable me to open it after its downloaded)? i dont even know if thats the right thing to do, but i cant really think of what else. or maby ive been doing it wrong all this time and im actually supposed to use them as .rar - if that is the case can someone please tell me how to do so?
